Welcome to the PTO Web Site!

We would like you to look around, let us know if you like what you see and let us know about things you'd like to see that aren't here yet. We are here for you, the parents and teachers, and we need your input and suggestions.

The LPTO consists of the L'Ouverture community of parents, teachers and staff. Unlike the PTA, a national organization that requires dues and fees, the LPTO is a private organization. It has its own Constitution and By-Laws, and is geared toward working solely for the benefit of L'Ouverture students.

This year's LPTO Board members are:

  • Martha Mwangi: President
  • Rhonda Nolan: Vice President
  • Open: Secretary
  • Cathy Brownell: Treasurer
  • Tarrah Griffin: Teacher Representative

Please feel free to stop us in the halls at school or drop us a line at LPTO@sbcglobal.net with your questions and ideas.

The LPTO assists the teachers and staff by helping to raise money and come up with innovative ways to purchase upgrades in an ever-changing technology, as well as other items the L'Ouverture annual budget does not cover.

Along with fund raising, the LPTO also helps to coordinate Volunteer activities. You can get involved by attending LPTO meetings, scheduled on the 1st Thursday of every month at 6:00pm - child care is provided. We will be posting Volunteer Positions as they become available.

Please keep in mind that your child's homeroom teacher often needs help and you can fill that need by volunteering a few hours a week - anytime during school, at home or after school as needed.
