Bullying Awareness Week
L'Ouverture is recognizing Bullying Awareness Week by sharing facts with students each day about bullying.  Monday's fact: Over 3.2 millions students are victims of bullying each year.  Monday's theme was Being a Friend is No Sweat!  Students were encouraged to wear workout clothes.

Tuesday's fact: There are typically three types of bullying: social (excluding victims from activities, rumors), verbal (threatening, taunting, teasing, hate speech), and physical (kicking, hitting, punching, choking).  Tuesday's theme was Be a Hero: Stand up to Bullies!

Wednesday's fact: 1 in 5 students admit to being a bullying or doing some bullying.  Wednesday's theme was Bully Free through the Decades.

Holiday Fun! Teacher Ugly Sweater Contest
T-Mobile Huddle Up
On October 30th, L'Ouverture had 100 T-Mobile employees volunteer at our school.  They did a variety of beautification projects around the inside and outside of our building.  They also taught STEM lessons to each grade level.  Thank you T-Mobile!

Official Enrollment Assembly with WSU Athletes!
We had a great turnout for official enrollment assembly.  We had four WSU athletes join us to talk to the students about the importance of attending school every day and being on time every day.  We also gave away a gift card to one lucky parent who attended and a new bicycle to one lucky on time student!

STEM Carnival
On September 16th, L'Ouverture hosted its first STEM Carnival.  We had a great turn out!  Everyone had a great time participating in STEM related activities.
